I’ve been photographing little Jemma since she was very small, and it has been so fun to see her grow and change. She is such a special little girl. Jemma was born with a rare birth defect and is missing part of her leg. When mom suggested a sunflower theme for her first birthday cake smash because it matched the fabric on her fake leg that she had just been fitted for, I was so overjoyed. It matched the set perfectly and made the session about much, much more than just a first birthday cake smash. This session became a celebration of her milestone of getting her fake leg, so she can start learning how to walk. To me, that is beautiful. I can’t wait to see this little lady grow and see how much more she can accomplish.
Jemma was not extremely interested in her cake, and she didn’t love the mess on her fingers. But she LOVED the bath portion of her photoshoot and loved being the center of attention. This girl loves the camera! When I took her sitter milestone photos, she was the same way. She has such beautiful bright eyes and an adorable smile, and she made my job easy.
