Addilyn’s cake smash photoshoot was so much fun. First, the planning part of things was SO fun for me. I watched Disney’s “The Little Mermaid” like 10 times, made about 5 trips to Hobby Lobby for props, and spent 4 hours creating the perfect mermaid balloon garland for the photos. It was so fun for me to create something that was such an important part of my childhood. Like most 90s babies, I LOVE Disney, and I LOVE The Little Mermaid.
I based my entire set after Ariel’s collection. I wanted a very fine art style for the session, even though we used a balloon garland. I knew that this session would be amazing with the right color choices to make the whole thing feel like a Disney movie. Designing custom cake smash sets for moms of the Treasure Valley and Boise area is my favorite thing ever. I truly love baby and children’s photography and enjoy making beautiful photos for my clients.
The day of Addilyn’s cake smash was my first time meeting her, and let me tell you, she is such a beautiful little girl!! And so happy! Despite the fact that she didn’t like her cake and wasn’t a fan of bath time, she honestly was so happy regardless. She didn’t enjoy having messy hands, which is totally understandable and something I deal with all the time. We worked through it regardless and just kept her hands clean as she ate some of her cake. Besides, this cake made by my baker was too pretty to smash anyways ;)
